Course Human-Machine Systems (SE, 2 SWS, 3 LP)
HF2031: Future perspectives in Human Factors research.
- Course language: English! -
Supervision: M.Sc. Sarah-Christin Freytag
Will intelligent systems replace humans? Will artificial intelligence rise and wipe out humanity as we know it? Will we live in VR? What will happen to social interaction? Will the human factor be emphasized or neglected? What technological breakthroughs will change our world? What medical technologies are on the horizon and will change our concept of health? This course will challenge students to discuss those and related topics controversially. We aim to identify challenges and trends and debate their importance from a scientific, social, political and ethical perspective.
Participating students will be given the task to coordinate and hold one lecture in which they will give a talk on a related topic, followed by group discussion and/or group work. They will also write an essay that explores this topic more in-depth and in relation to other topics discussed at the end of the term. (3CP/LP)
This course is open to students from or with an interest in all fields related to human-machine interaction. A multi-disciplinary approach is encouraged.
Due to a too low number of registrations, the seminar "Future perspectives on Human-Machine Systems" will not be held this term. We hope to see you in one of our other courses and wish you all the best for the upcoming term!
